This is a full-time position and reports directly to the Editor.
This position handles our sports coverage, including photgraphy, of area high schools, middle schools, private schools, charter schools and various local club and recreation sports teams and programs.
You will also be expected to assist with non-sports related coverage as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
Four-year degree with a concentration in journalism preferred.
Minimum of two years sports reporting and photography.
Must possess excellent writing and verbal skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Pagination skills are not a requirement.
Henderson is located only a short drive to the research triangle of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill.
In addition, you can wake up and decide to take a day trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway or to the beautiful, sandy beaches on North Carolina's Crystal Coast.
