Job Title:  Quality Technician

Location:  Henderson, NC


Job Description:


This position maintains the operational effectibveness of the Henderson Quality Labs and determines metallurgical powder acceptance.  


The Quality Lab Technician will perform lab testing on metallurgical powder and report findings to the material review board.  The Quality Technician will be held accountable for any additional job instructions from Supervisor and/or Management team as deemed appropriate.  The Quality Technician will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining lab equipment.


Key Job Responsibilities:


                      Perform lab testing on metallurgical powders per test requirements.

       Coordinate incoming powder testing including scheduling, data collection, analysis and acceptance using physical property. Metallographic testing to be

        performed by 535 lab technicians.

       Verify production sinter heats using physical property testing and statistical analysis.

       Shipping samples to other Kennametal sites for testing.

       Conduct special testing/analysis to support plant problem solving, and testing on specific engineering projects.

       Interface with equipment venders as needed.

       Have the ability to work with SAP and data entry.

       Maintain timely and accurate records.

       Coordination, communication, and organization are vitally important to the success of the position.

       Position reports directly to the Quality Manager, but has significant interaction with the material review board.  

       Job is diverse in nature with self-motivation important to success.

Education, Work Experience and Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED required;

  • 2-year Associates degree preferred.

  • 1-2 years of lab experience preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
